A beach day should be relaxing, fun, and stress-free – it shouldn’t be a huge battle and worry, with things like the sand, sunburn, and not feeling good in a swimsuit (among other things) getting in the way, but sadly that’s often what it can turn into.
Of course, the key to having a good day at the beach, whether you like to jump straight into the waves or you prefer to be under an umbrella with a good book is comfort, and although that might sound like a tricky thing to do, the fact is, it’s not too hard once you learn some handy tricks. With that in mind, keep reading to learn how to be comfortable on the beach.

Find The Right Swimsuit
Nothing ruins a day at the beach faster than realising you chose the wrong swimsuit and you’re constantly tugging at it and adjusting it – or just totally second-guessing it and trying to cover up (which isn’t a great confidence booster, and on a hot day, it’s even worse).
That’s why you need to forget trends and look for swimsuits that make you feel really confident and good about yourself. And there are so many options that just by taking a bit of time to work things out, you’ll find something that looks great, fits perfectly, and feels fantastic, and that’s going to make all the difference to your comfort levels on the beach.
Pack Smart
Something to bear in mind is that a really good day at the beach starts before you even get there – or it should be, at least, and the right packing essential can mean the difference between a stress-free day that becomes a lovely memory for years to come and a sandy mess of a day that you’d rather forget.
There are a few things you’re definitely going to want with you on the beach, including a large, comfy towel or beach blanket that you can totally stretch out on, some baby powder (it’s great for getting rid of stubborn sand that might be sticking to you and making you feel uncomfortable), a waterproof bag so you can keep your phone, keys, and so on safe and protected, and sunscreen – that’s vital because not only will sunburn make you feel awful, but it’s dangerous for your health as well. Pack these things and anything else you know you’ll need and you’ll be able to have a great day relaxing and switching off from stress.
Stay Cool And Hydrated
There’s nothing worse than feeling overheated and being dehydrated when you’re trying to enjoy the beach, so make sure you’ve got lots of water with you (and actually bring more than you think you’ll need, especially if you’re spending the whole day on the beach and don’t really want to keep having to go and find something to drink). It can also be a good idea to pack some frozen snacks like fruit, and grapes are particularly good because they’re great for boosting energy and they’ll help to hydrate you as well.
Another way to keep yourself cool is to have a beach umbrella with you (or hire one if that’s easier) or maybe even a pop-up tent to retreat to when you need to – that could make all the difference and ensure you can stay comfortable on the beach for longer.
